At the 健康中心 and 健康, Coker provides a licensed Mental Health & Accommodations Counselor. 学生 are encouraged to seek help in dealing with such common problems as homesickness, 抑郁症, sleep disturbances or inability to concentrate, as well as more urgent needs.

Are walk-ins accepted or do I have to make an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome and will be served on a first-come, first-served basis. However, we encourage students to make an appointment when possible.

Will the information I share during counseling be discussed with anyone else?
Student records are kept strictly confidential in compliance with state and federal law, including FERPA (家庭 Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act).

Student records cannot be released or disclosed without written consent of the patient/client except under the following conditions:
- In the event of a health or safety emergency
- Threat of harm to self or others
- Suspected child abuse
- Suspected abuse of elderly or disabled
- Court order or subpoena
